Yeh - there aren't any Live newsgroups (Spaces is now internally a Live product by the way) - but we'll be seeing them in the next quarter apparently :o)

But there isn't - and I almost guarantee they won't roll them out until a whole load of services are out of beta - expect it this autumn/fall time.

You do realise there will be no such thing as a Windows Live Desktop - there is no plan for a service to be named that, and what you're thinking WLDesktop would be... isn't what we'd be working on.
